Nickel (Ni) is a metallic chemical element with atomic number 28. There are several naturally occurring Nickel isotopes, but the most abundant one is 58Ni, with 28 protons and 30 neutrons.
Nickel is mainly used in stainless steel alloys, but the metal also has a history of being used in coins, famously giving name to the American 5-cent coin.
