Protactinium (Pa) is a chemical element with atomic number 91. The only naturally occurring isotope of the protactinium is ²³¹Pa, with 91 protons and 140 neutrons.

Protactinium is toxic, radioactive, and extremely rare and therefore does not have any industrial applications, unlike its two neighboring elements thorium and uranium.
